I know we’re all about the actual product performance here, but I gotta say ??some of the packaging this year was really cool. Had a few cakes that came in these sleek boxes with metallic printing and honestly it made me want to buy them more than the ones with the generic label.
Does good packaging actually matter for sales? I feel like at the retail level it does. People gravitate toward the stuff that looks impressive on the shelf.
Also anyone notice some brands are going for this retro/vintage look lately? Saw a couple fountains with old-school typography that looked pretty sick. Way better than the usual cartoon flames and screaming eagles lol.
100% agree. Packaging is a huge factor at retail. I’ve passed on what were probably great cakes just because the box looked cheap. Meanwhile I’ve bought things that looked amazing on the shelf and the product was meh lol.
That retro trend you mentioned ??yeah I’ve seen that too. World Class had some fountains last year with that old-school label design. Really stood out.
Whoever does the art for Brothers also does a nice job. Consistent look across their lineup.
