Been thinking about getting a finale rack setup for the New Year’s show. Right now I just hand light everything but my NYE setup is gonna be bigger than usual this year. Those racks with the quick-match look slick but IDK if it’s overkill for a backyard thing. What’s everyone else doing? Worth the money or just stick with a good fuse system?

I switched to a finale rack setup last year and honestly it’s a game changer. Not overkill at all for backyard shows. The quick-match makes timing way more consistent and you can get way more shells in the air at once. I got one of those adjustable racks that folds flat for storage. Cost me like $150 and it’s paid for itself in saved time and better shows.

Steve I was on the fence about racks for like 2 years and finally pulled the trigger this season. Best decision ever. I got one of those cheap adjustable ones from Amazon for like $80 and it worked way better than I expected. The quick-match setup means you can get 20+ shells in the air in like 5 seconds for the finale. Hand lighting is fun and all but if you’re doing a bigger NYE show, you’re gonna want the rack trust me. Just don’t cheap out on the fuse, get good quality quick-match.
