Man I swear the same green fuse I buy in March burns twice as fast by August. Maybe it’s just me but the humidity around here (southeast) makes my timing all wonky in the summer months. I’ve been using a slower black match for my finale racks but for the regular cakes the standard fuse feels way too quick once it’s been sitting in the shed. Anyone else notice this? Any tricks to slow it down or just switch to electronic firing in summer?
Dude yes! I thought I was going crazy. I timed some green visco last July and it burned at like 2 secs per inch vs the usual 3-4. Humidity definitely accelerates it. I started storing my fuse in a ziplock with those silica gel packs you find in shoe boxes — seems to help. Or you could just go the electronic route lol. Once I switched to a firing system I never looked back tbh.
