Honestly I thought after the 250th anniversary last year the 2026 shows would feel kinda meh in comparison. But man, I caught a few displays last weekend and they were actually incredible. The drone+fireworks hybrid shows are getting really good now. Not saying they beat pure pyro but the combo is pretty sweet when done right.
Anyone else feel like this season was slept on? Or did your local shows kinda suck?
I was actually thinking the same thing! Went to the Macy’s show on the 4th and it was insane. They had this whole segment where the drones formed an American flag and the fireworks burst through it – cheesy but it worked.
The local shows in my town were decent too, nothing crazy but better than last year for sure. I think the industry put a lot of effort into 2026 after the whole supply chain mess from the Liuyang explosion.
Idk man, maybe it’s just where I live but our local show was pretty mid this year. Barely 20 minutes and half the shells looked like they were duds. The town probably cheaped out after blowing the budget in 2025 lol.
That said, the pro shows I saw on youtube were next level. Whoever did the Boston display needs a raise.
