I stored some Brothers canister shells for almost 4 years in an unfinished basement (so not even climate controlled, just a dehumidifier running) and they were absolutely fine. The tubes didn’t swell, lift charges all worked, breaks were clean.
What will kill your stash faster than anything is temperature swings — if your basement goes from 60 to 80 and back again every few days, the cardboard and comps expand/contract and that’s when you get problems. Steady temp + low humidity = you’re good for years.
