OK so I know this is kinda random but did anyone else notice how much nicer the packaging was on a lot of the America 250 branded fireworks this year? I grabbed a few cakes and the boxes had this cool patriotic foil printing and way better artwork than the usual generic labels.

I usually don’t care about boxes since they just go in the trash anyway lol. But these ones I actually kinda wanted to keep. I saved the box from one of the Excalibur 250th edition cakes – the gold eagle design was actually pretty slick.

Is this a trend or was it just a one-off for the 250th? Would be cool if brands started doing limited edition packaging more often.

I noticed the same thing Tina! The 250th anniversary packaging was definitely a step up from the usual stuff. I think a lot of brands pulled out all the stops for the America 250 because they knew it was a once-in-a-generation sales opportunity. Limited edition runs are becoming more common though – World Class and Brothers both do seasonal packaging for July 4th and New Year’s.

There’s actually a thread in the Packaging section that digs into why some brands invest in fancy packaging vs others that just use generic boxes. Interesting read if you’re into that side of things.
