anyone tried those quick-plug connectors for igniters? thinking of ditching wire nuts

Gonna redo my firing board before Labor Day and saw some guys on YouTube using those push-in quick connectors for talon igniters instead of the old strip-and-twist method. Are they actually reliable or is this one of those things that looks great on video but fails when you got 20 cues going in a finale? My wire nuts held up fine for july 4th but it took forever to set up and tear down. If you switched, which connectors you using?

I switched to Wago 221 connectors last season and never looked back. Way faster than wire nuts especially in the dark. Only thing is make sure you get the genuine ones 鈥?the knockoffs on Amazon don’t grip as well and I had one pop loose during testing. For 20+ cues in a finale rack I’d still solder the critical ones tbh but for everything else the quick connects are solid.

second the Wago recommendation. I actually use the 222 series instead of 221 for pyro stuff cause theyre a little chunkier and easier to handle with gloves on. Learned that the hard way at a show last October when it was like 40 degrees and my fingers were numb lol.

also pro tip: put a tiny dab of dielectric grease on the connectors before you push them in if youre doing a show near water or in high humidity. saved my butt at a lakeside show.
