    Was sorting through my 4th of July stash and realized how much plastic waste comes from just one season of cakes and artillery shells. I get that cardboard wont work for moisture protection, but some of these blister packs are insane – double layers of molded plastic for a single 200g cake. Have any manufacturers started switching to recyclable materials or reduced packaging? Or is this just how it is for the foreseeable future?

    Good question. I noticed Winda has been using more cardboard and less plastic in their 2026 packaging compared to last year. Their new window-cut boxes let you see the tube layout without opening anything. Still a lot of shrink wrap but at least the main box is recyclable now. Baby steps I guess.
