Can you legally transport fireworks across state lines by car?

Planning a road trip from PA down to SC this summer and I’ve got a decent stash of 1.4G stuff I wanna bring for a family reunion. I know PA has looser laws but I’m passing through like 4 states – MD, VA, NC, SC. Am I gonna get pulled over and arrested if I just keep everything in the trunk? Do state cops even care about consumer fireworks or is it more of a fireworks-sold-illegally-in-that-state type deal?

Anyone actually done this without issues? Or had a bad experience?

I’ve done PA to NC a bunch of times. honestly just dont speed and keep everything in the trunk out of sight. VA cops can be kinda strict about fireworks but theyre not gonna search your car without a reason. if you get caught in MD it could be more of a headache cause 1.4G is illegal there. but again ??just drive normal and youll be fine dude.

Good advice from Ron. One thing to add ??the biggest risk isn’t local cops pulling you over, it’s what happens if you actually get in an accident. Transporting consumer fireworks in a passenger vehicle isn’t regulated by DOT the same way 1.3G is, but your car insurance may not cover an incident if they find out fireworks were involved.
