Been doing traditional fuse for years but Im thinking about switching to electronic firing for better timing. My main concern is reliability though — Ive heard mixed things about some of the cheaper systems failing to fire. For those of you using electronic igniters, whats your setup and how reliable has it been? Also curious if theres a big difference between the consumer grade stuff and whats used in professional displays. Wouldnt mind building my own system if its cheaper but not if its gonna fail on me lol.
I built my own system using Arduino and some cheap igniters from Amazon. Honestly for the price its hard to beat. Ive had maybe 1 failure out of like 50+ firings and that was probably my bad wiring. The prebuilt consumer stuff like the Cobra system is solid but expensive. If you got time to tinker DIY is the way to go. Just make sure you test everything before show day lol.
