Was at a tent sale over the weekend and noticed a bunch of cakes where the paper labels were peeling off or just straight up missing. Like, you could see the bare cardboard tube underneath. Is this a manufacturing issue or more of a storage problem?

I get that these are mass produced and the labels are just glued on, but when I’m dropping $50 on a cake I kinda want it to look presentable. Plus if the label’s gone how do you even know what effect it is? Anyone else running into this with certain brands?

Man I’ve seen this too. Some of the cheaper brands from China use really thin paper labels and whatever adhesive they use just doesn’t hold up in humidity. Had a case where the label slid right off a cake and you couldn’t tell if it was a peony or a willow effect. Had to light it and find out lol.
