Shipping fireworks via ground freight – any carriers to avoid?

We do a fair amount of shipping and have had mixed experiences with different carriers. Some are great about handling, others… not so much.

What carriers have you guys had good luck with for ground shipping? Any you’d recommend staying away from?

We’ve had good luck with R+L Carriers for ground freight. They seem to understand hazmat protocol better than some of the bigger guys. FedEx Freight has been hit or miss for us.

Seconding R+L. Also worth looking into YRC – they’ve been reliable for our shipments out of the Midwest. Just make sure everything’s properly labeled and paperwork’s in order. DOT’s been cracking down on mislabeled hazmat shipments.
